Content Bloom Unleashes New Digital Barketing Team
By John Winter
Like many organizations, Content Bloom has always had a relaxed stance on bringing dogs to the office. We’ve observed that having pets in the workplace has forged a stronger bond across our teams, boosted morale, and often provides relief in times of stress.
What we didn’t expect was that our loving pets could themselves also be trained to help with some of our deliverables. In mid-2011, we had an office bet that we could have one of the pups herd people into meeting rooms to ensure everyone was present and on time for the session. It seemed a bit far-fetched but it worked and before we knew it, we had dogs integrated into many of our teams – from delivery, finance, project management, managed services, and facilitation – in some cases allowing us to replace human team members with canine equivalents.
For example, Greg is a terrier (literally!). So naturally, we saw him as a good fit to work alongside our Business Development team. Greg can sniff out a lead better than any human and we’ve seen him provide detailed “ruff estimates” when being put on the spot during client presentations.
Another example is our greyhound, Linda. She’s a loyal part of our SEO team and is what they call a “sighthound” dog, using vision and speed rather than scent to track her goal.
“Vision”, “speed”, “track” … it was pretty obvious that she’d become one of our leading SEO consultants. It’s literally in her DNA. As a part of our wider internet marketing operations, Linda is at home running SEO Pawdits for our enterprise clients as we speak.
Finally, we have to mention Harper, our goldendoodle, as one of our top performers in the creative UI/UX team. For her outstanding work, we’ve recently promoted her to the position of senior dogsign consultant after her excellent work digging up some cutting-edge user experience concepts.
Since the dawn of time dogs have worked hand-in-paw with humans, but we believe we’re the first digital agency to incorporate them into our team and company growth strategy.
While the senior management team was reasonably skeptical at first, the impact and results our K9 companions have produced for our global client base is impawsible to ignore.
