Creating a modern commerce experience that fuses digital and in-store is the future of retail. While many consumers browse online, they still shop in-store yet expect a mechanism that can combine the two.
One of the world’s largest toy and entertainment retailers set out to build a modern shopping experience meant to empower young girls to showcase their individuality by designing and bringing to life their custom dolls and garments via web, mobile, and in-store kiosks.

This was all part of a larger strategy to transform their brick and mortar shops into positive, immersive shopping experiences rather than just rooms full of products.
The goal was simple – support the configuration via web, mobile, or in-store touch screens to allow children to save their creations to their online profile. Parents or gift givers could then order the item online, for home or store pick up, or shop in-store and receive directions on where to locate the saved items.
As a leading implementer of complex, multi-channel web and mobile applications, Content Bloom partnered with creative agency MJD to design and implement the content technology infrastructure to power the end-to-end platform.

The solution was built using a headless content management system, which supplies content to a React JS single-page web app. To take it a step further, our team built integrations with the client’s ecomm and social media platforms.
Upon launch, the first week’s sales were four times the agreed upon goal and the application went viral over social media. Since this project, we’ve built and supported similar content-based applications for their various other global brands.
