With their new Ocean Cruise business launching in six weeks, Viking needed a website that allowed users to customize, book and manage their trip of a lifetime. We assembled a team, rolled up our sleeves and delivered just in time for the maiden voyage.
Viking Cruises is a cruise line operator founded in 1997 operating river cruises around Europe.
In 2014 Viking to launched a new area of business offering ocean cruises. During the run up to this launch, Viking was struggling with their current CMS provider as they didn’t have the skills and experience of implementing with the SDL Tridion suite. With only two months remaining until the maiden voyage Content Bloom teamed up with Viking to provide an architected design and build.
Content Bloom was responsible for the execution of the site across many areas – from the crafting of responsive HTML designs, the Content Management System implementation and the backend application development to manage online bookings, virtual ship tours advanced faceted searches. In addition to the creation of the Oceans website Content Bloom managed the installation and provisioning of cloud-based environments to host both the CMS and websites.
After successfully launching the website, visitors can browse and customize their perfect cruise; virtually tour hundreds of excursions and activities as well as the ship’s rooms and facilities.
Content Bloom was a critical driving force in our implementation of SDL Tridion. They took a complex set of needs, constantly changing requirements, and an intricate system and somehow made it easy to understand for even the least technical of executives on the team.
